We serve as a worldwide provider of advertising expertise and digital media solutions for brands and advertisers, simplifying and amplifying digital marketing efforts. Our mission is to assist advertisers in achieving their marketing objectives and return on investment (ROI) by leveraging programmatic media buying across all devices and channels. We ensure precise digital advertising delivery to the appropriate audience, with the right message, at the right moment, and in the right context. We function as an independent trading desk equipped with automated media buying and optimization techniques. Moreover, we have established a robust private marketplace for our publishers, ensuring maximum yield from this exclusive marketplace. Our company is headquartered in Dubai.

This Privacy Policy is presented to inform you about how our ad optimization technology and services, which include the Real-Time Bidding Service (referred to collectively as the “Service”), collect and process data on behalf of two key groups: (i) advertisers, agencies, and ad networks, collectively referred to as “Demand Partners” or “Clients,” and (ii) website owners, mobile application owners, ad networks, ad exchanges, sell-side platforms, and other providers of advertising inventory for sale, collectively referred to as “Supply Partners.” Additionally, we license and employ third-party ad serving and media buying platforms, including those supporting Real-Time Bidding (RTB), to deliver advertisements (referred to collectively as “Technology Partners”). This policy also details our privacy practices concerning our corporate website, luminarymedia.net. A GENERAL NOTE ON INTERNET TECHNOLOGIES AND PRIVACY

Before delving into this Privacy Policy, we suggest acquainting yourself with the following concepts and terminology. This will enable you to grasp how Luminary and its Clients utilize data concerning you and other internet users to present more compelling and relevant advertisements while you navigate the web.

Ad Tags: Ad Tags are snippets of code that facilitate the delivery of online advertisements in specific ad slots on websites and in online applications.

Cookies: Cookies are small text files that web servers typically transmit to a user’s computer when they visit a website. These cookies can be read or modified when the user accesses a website or advertisement from the domain that initially created the cookie. Companies use cookies to collect and transmit information about a user’s website visits, such as the number of visits, average time spent, pages viewed, navigation history, and other statistics. This data can enhance a user’s online experience, for example, by saving passwords or enabling companies to track and improve website loading times. Cookies can also be employed to track a user’s browsing habits or online purchasing behavior for targeted advertising. Importantly, cookies cannot access other data on a user’s hard drive, identify individuals, or behave like malware or viruses. Users who prefer not to accept cookies can configure their web browser to notify them when a cookie is received or to block cookies from being stored on their hard drive. You can find more information about cookies at http://www.allaboutcookies.org/cookies/.

Personally Identifiable Information (PII): We define Personally Identifiable Information (PII) as data that can be used to uniquely identify, contact, or locate an individual or can be combined with other sources to achieve this unique identification. Examples of PII include names, addresses, social security numbers, email addresses, and so forth. This is the standard industry definition adopted by most internet companies. Information collected by various internet companies that does not meet the criteria of PII is referred to as “non-PII.”

Real-Time Bidding (RTB): Real-Time Bidding (RTB) is a method of purchasing online or mobile advertising inventory by responding instantly to an ad request with a “bid,” typically priced on a cost-per-thousand-impressions (CPM) basis, to acquire that single impression and thereby the opportunity to display an ad to the user. RTB buyers leverage various data sources, including third-party data, to precisely target the ads they serve.

Web Beacons & Pixels: A web beacon comprises a small piece of code that represents a request for a graphic image on a web page, within an online application, or in an email. While a graphic image can be associated with the web beacon, it is not mandatory. When an image is present, it is often designed to blend seamlessly into the background of the web page, application, or email in which it appears. Frequently, an online data collection company will place a beacon without an image, rendering it invisible to the user and occupying the smallest possible screen space. This is referred to as a “pixel” and essentially functions as an imperceptible web beacon. Pixels and web beacons serve various purposes, such as site traffic reporting, tracking unique visitors, auditing and reporting on advertising, personalization, and more. They typically achieve this by creating or modifying cookies on each user’s computer. Therefore, akin to cookies, they cannot capture keystrokes, access personal files on your computer, or replicate like a virus. Most pixels and web beacons, including those used by Luminary, only collect anonymous data. However, in some instances, pixels may gather PII, especially when they are embedded in emails. In such cases, the data collected via the web beacon may be linked to the recipient’s email address or other identifying information. It’s important to note that Luminary does not employ such beacons that collect PII, nor does it engage in direct marketing through mailers.

Luminary Media’s SERVICE & DATA COLLECTION PRACTICES

We Do Not Gather Personally Identifiable Information.

Within our Service, we do not collect Personally Identifiable Information (PII). We also explicitly instruct our Clients not to transmit PII to us, and we take stringent precautions to prevent the receipt of PII from our Clients. If, despite these precautions, we receive PII from a Client or inadvertently transmit PII received from a Client to a third party, we will take immediate steps to purge this PII from our servers and records. Furthermore, we will ensure that the third parties involved also eliminate the PII from their records.

We Employ Cookies and Web Beacons, as Do Our Clients.

Cookies and web beacons serve specific purposes within our operations. We utilize them to track the delivery of advertising impressions accurately, allowing us to attribute them correctly to a Demand Partner and generate invoices accordingly. Additionally, we deploy cookies to monitor the frequency of exposure to a particular advertisement, aligning with a Demand Partner’s campaign objectives related to frequency capping.

Please be aware that if you choose to opt out but subsequently delete, block, or otherwise restrict cookies, your opt-out preference may not function as intended. Even if you have opted out once, if you later access our website from a different computer or internet browser, you will need to opt out again in that environment. Additionally, the opt-out preference is specific to the browser and computer you are using and may reset if you install a new browser version. Deleting a cookie or opting out does not mean you will no longer receive online advertising; it simply means that you will not receive targeted ads. Once you opt out of online behavioral advertising, Luminary will honor your choice and cease using the information we collect about your browsing activities to deliver targeted ads or personalized content. However, it’s important to understand the following regarding opt-outs:

Opting out does not block ads: If you opt out, you will still see online ads from the Luminary Ad network, but these will not be based on your interests.

Opting out does not block data collection: Even if you opt out, Luminary can continue collecting data about your browsing activity, which helps us serve ads and support other services. However, this data cannot be used to deliver targeted ads or personalized content.

Opt-outs are tied to opt-out cookies: Your opt-out preference is recorded by Luminary using opt-out cookies stored on your device. If you delete this cookie, you will no longer be opted out, and Luminary will once again show you targeted ads until you explicitly opt out again.

Opt-out duration is five years: If you opt out of the Luminary Ad network, in accordance with NAI guidelines, you will remain opted out of targeted advertising by Luminary for five years from the date of your initial opt-out, regardless of the provisions in section 3 above. After five years, you may again receive interest-based advertising unless you explicitly opt out again.

Opt-out is specific to each browser: Your opt-out action applies to a particular browser, meaning you will not receive targeted ads on the browser from which you opted out. Therefore, if you use multiple browsers, you must opt out separately for each one.

Opting Out via the Network Advertising Initiative
